Our Trainers
ITMSA trainers have all undergone ITM practitioner and advanced training either in South Africa or in Thailand as well as Thai Massage teacher training and apprenticeship to ensure the quality of the training. These instructors were hand picked as top students and offered the oportunity to become ITMSA instructors based on their extensive training in other therapies and an innate ability to guide and mentor others. All training material is standardised by ITMSA and practitioner certification is recognised by ITMSA and ITM in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
MAUREEN JARDIM
Kwa Zulu Natal, South Africa
Maureen Jardim worked in the beauty industry for many years. She was the National Training Manager for Clinique, Portugal and spent years grooming consultants and perfumery staff for the Estee Lauder corporation in Portugal and Brasil. Maureen was responsible for the launching and promotion of a new cosmetic range in Spain and Portugal. She has also worked as sales and marketing manager for a property developer in Portugal.
Maureen joined ITMSA ten years ago and has undergone intensive training in Traditional Thai Massage, Thai Foot Massage, Thai Hot Poultice Massage (Royal Thai) as well as Sports and Oriental Sports massage, Myofasial release and Hawaiian Lomi Lomi.
She completed teacher training and apprenticeship under Jean and has headed up and run many successful trainings under the ITMSA banner all over South Africa. Maureen has a talent for guiding students through the workshops with ease and enthusiasm and all her students have proved to be successful practitioners of their chosen modality. Maureen now provides Thai and Lomi Lomi training at most of the major schools and spas around South Africa. ITMSA also benefits from Maureen’s ability to train in Portuguese and Spanish. She offers private treatments and training in her studio in Hilton, KZN.

AMY DE KLERK
Cape Town, South Africa
Amy de Klerk has been a practicing therapist for over seven years. After matriculating with a Waldorf Education, she completed a two-year diploma in Therapeutic Aromatherapy and Reflexology. This formed the foundation for her ongoing journey with bodywork and health studies. In 2007 she was introduced to a master in traditional massage and the healing arts, with whom she studied and worked extensively. In 2009 she spent some time in Thailand where her advanced studies commenced. Upon her return to SA she was chosen to become a teacher in Thai Traditional Massage at the Institute of Traditional Massage South Africa (ITMSA).
In 2010, Amy relocated to the beautiful city of Cape Town where she now practices and runs courses and workshops.

SALOME FAVRE-BULLE
Rivonia, Gauteng
Salomé started her career in Health & Fitness in 2007, first qualifying as a Pilates instructor and then in Thai Foot Massage. The interest of integrating this different and effective massage style with body movement lead to her to complete the Thai Body Massage Level 1 & 2 training with Jean Moore, in early 2008.
'I believe that keeping your body aligned, supple and free from tension, assists in injury prevention, better body control and ultimately improved power.'
Having a variety of clients makes one see just how effective massage therapy is, from the business executive to the athlete.
Salomé has been working with one of South Africa's top MMA athletes, since 2012 and has had great results from combining Thai Massage and Pilates. She also works in conjunction with Biokenetisists, Chiropractors and Physiotherapists to give her clients the best chance at recovery and rehabilitation.

LEONIE MARÉ

Leonie has been in her own private practise for the past 12 yearsShe works In Pretoria,Gauteng as well as Howick KZNLeonie is a Certified Postural Integration Facilitator, as well Thai Massage TrainerShe did her Thai training with Jean Moore 2008Leonie is highly intuitive and has excellent listening skills. She considers life her teacher and feels blessed with the compassion and understanding that she gained through what she likes to call her own “life lessons”. She deeply honours the wisdom of the body believing that if the correct “switches” (structural and emotional) are found, the body knows what to do. GLYNIS ARMSTRONG

Glynis Armstrong is a passionate Massage & Holistic therapist and ITMSA (The Institute of Thai Massage, South Africa) trainer. She offers introductory and therapist training in Thai Traditional Massage and Thai Foot Massage. She is also a Reiki Master Teacher. Glynis first qualified as a Skincare & Body therapist, which is where her love for massage and body work first developed. Throughout the years she has studied and worked with many forms of massage, body work and holistic therapies. This all lead her to study and eventually start teaching Thai Massage. She is highly experienced, and her dedication as a therapist and trainer translate through, into her work.
